Warren Henry Drinkgern

Warren H. Drinkgern, 76, Bremen, died Saturday, July 30, 2022, while in care with Meadowlark Hospice at Blue Valley, Blue Rapids, KS. Visitation was from Noon until 9 p.m., Monday, August 8, 2022 at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. Family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Immanuel (Hermansburg) Lutheran Church, Bremen. Burial was in the church cemetery. Warren was born March 12, 1946 to Henry and DeLora (Lauterbach) Drinkgern in Marysville. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He attended Immanuel Lutheran School till the 8th grade and attended Hanover High School, graduating in 1964. Warren participated in football, basketball and track and still holds the school record in the 110 high hurdles. On June 18, 1971, he was united in marriage to Mary Lee Johnson at Immanuel Lutheran Church and they were blessed with a son, Kaleb. Warren worked forty-two years as a Die Setter for Hoover Group, Beatrice, NE, retiring in 2008. He really enjoyed the people he worked with. He was a lifelong farmer and was one of the last farmers to still haul his grain to town with a tractor and gravity wagon. He also had a cow/calf operation and a farrow to finish pig operation. He enjoyed watching Kaleb playing sports and going bird hunting with him. He liked watching the Chiefs, K-State Football and watching westerns. His favorite was Gunsmoke. Warren especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He liked going to local events and socializing with his friends. Warren was guaranteed to greet you with a smile and big hello. He made an everlasting impact on people and will be missed by all. Preceding him in death were his parents Henry and DeLora Drinkgern. Warren is survived by his wife, Mary Lee; son, Kaleb (Amanda) Drinkgern, Lee’s Summit, MO; and two grandchildren, Emilia Grace Drinkgern and Knox Henry Drinkgern. A memorial fund is established and will be designated later.
