Wayne grew up in the Herkimer community, a place he dearly loved. He was born in Marysville, Kansas on July 30, 1951, to Helmuth and Bernice (Duensing) Luedders. He was baptized into the Christian faith at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Marysville on August 26, 1951. His sponsors were Eldor Duensing, Herman Luedders, and Edna Wilkinson. He was confirmed in that faith at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Bremen on April 11, 1965. Following high school in Marysville, he attended Vo-Tech in Beloit. He married Norma Rademacher at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Odell, NE on August 11, 1973. Wayne and Norma went on to have three children, Amy, Jared, and Jeanette. As a family they attended Immanuel “Stateline” Lutheran Church in Wymore, Nebraska. He followed in his father’s footsteps, operating a dairy farm with his wife and his son until retirement. Wayne enjoyed a bowling league for many years and playing cards with family and friends. He was an avid K-State, Royals, and Chiefs’ fan. Wayne was an active member and, at various times over the years, served on multiple boards including, Dairy Herd Improvement Association, Kansas Farm Management and Herkimer Co-op. He and his son recently received the Kansas Bankers Association Soil Conservation Award. In his later years, he took the scenic route to visit his daughters and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. Wayne will be dearly missed and always remembered for his wit and dry sense of humor.
