Werner Seematter

Werner C. Seematter, 84, Kansas City, KS, died December 26, 2021, peacefully at his home. Visitation will be Thursday, December 30, from 10-11 a.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A prayer service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Marysville City Cemetery. Werner was born April 5, 1937, at Marysville, son of Walter and Louise Svobada Seematter. In 1955, he graduated from Marysville High School and then joined the National Guard. On July 12, 1958, he married Bonnie Jean Eckerle. They both moved to Kansas City where Werner worked for the Kansas Highway Department of Transportation for 44 years before retiring. He loved country music and played in a band as the lead guitarist entertaining at lodges, nightclubs and even nursing homes. He loved driving his truck on the backroads listening to talk radio or country music. His positive outlook on absolutely everything was always refreshing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Louise Seematter; wife, Bonnie Seematter; and brother, Melvin Seematter. Survivors include his two children, Calvin Seematter, Kansas City, KS, and Lori (Gerald) Porting, Basehor, KS; sister, Mary Ann Marquart, Kansas City, KS; two nieces and three nephews.
