Clarence LeRoy Adolph Jr., 94, of Marysville, died Friday, February 28th, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Visitation is at 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, March 2 at Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 3 at Marysville Christian Fellowship. Pallbearers will be, Larry Plegge, John Snellings, Alan Jones, Alan Wiard, Tyree Watson and Osie Hall. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Jim Hall, DeShawn Carter, Connor Prothe and Annyiah Welch. Burial will be at the Marysville City Cemetery with military honors by the Marysville American Legion. Clarence was born on June 18, 1925 at Scranton, Kansas to Clarence LeRoy Sr. and Minnie (Parsons) Adolph. He married Dixie Christian on October 22, 1962 in Kansas City, Missouri. Clarence served in the United States Army from October 10, 1946 to April 28, 1955, obtaining the rank of Sergeant. Most of his time in the Army was spent in Berlin, Germany. He retired in 1992 from The City of Marysville after 15 years as Street Foreman. Clarence was a member of the Eagles Lodge and VFW in Scranton, and a was a member of the Marysville American Legion. He attended church at Marysville Christian Fellowship. Clarence loved spending holidays with his family. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and always had a fish story to tell. He loved camping and enjoyed having a large garden every summer. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dixie in 2012, stepdaughter Michelle Wiard in 2001, grandson Michael Prothe in 2010 and grandson Justin Welch in 2014. Survivors include his daughter, Kim Prothe, Marysville, three grandchildren, Nichole Edwards, Amanda Jones and Rebekah Adolph, six great-grandchildren, Alan Jones, Tyree Watson, Osie Hall, Connor Prothe, DeShawn Carter and Annyiah Welch, and a sister Delpha Tucker, Topeka, KS. A memorial fund has been established to Meadowlark Hospice. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
